Alarm Trigger

Post by HughesyMNRH »

Hi

I am a newbie to setting up cameras for home surveillance and wanted to ask what might be a simple question but I am not clear on the surveiallance\camera functionality.

I can see what Motion Detection is and have set this up for EventAction recording, however, what actually is an "Alarm Trigger", I have also setup an EventAction to record for this EventType but I really don't understand what causes an Alarm Trigger.

I have a DCS-5222LB PTZ Camera installed.

Thanks in advance of any help you can provide...

Hello HughesyMNRH and Callsan,

On my d-link webcam you can define when a motion alarm is triggered:

When the camera detects a certain amout of image has changed it will notify the NAS (with an Alarm Trigger) to start the recording.
