Raspberry Pi RTSP Stream

Surveillance Center gives you the ability to collectively manage an array of IP cameras. Through its Web-based interface you can monitor live view feeds from all your cameras and play back previously recorded video.

Raspberry Pi RTSP Stream

Post by Uli »

Hello ASUSTOR Community,

I have problems with adding my Raspberry Pi RTSP video stream to the ASUSTOR Surveillance Center.
Maybe some of you could help me?

My Raspberry Pi is transmitting the Pi-Cam Live Video stream into the home WiFi.
Any device in my home WiFi which runs VLC (iPad, PC, etc.) can receive the network video stream using address
rtsp://192.168.178.44:8554

But while spending a lot of time, I failed adding this network stream to the ASUSTOR Surveillance Center.
I added a new camera chosing "manual setup", then
brand = User-defined
model = RTP over RTSP (TCP)
IP/Host = 192.168.178.44
Port = 80 <- Here I'm confused, because the official HowTo declares this mandatory field as "Camera's HTTP port (normally 80)"
but: I'm not using http!?
RTSP-Path = ??? <- I left it empty
RTSP-Port = 8554
Username = <- I left it empty
Password = <- I left it empty

Result of this config is: COULD NOT CONNECT TO CAMERA, PLEASE TRY AGAIN...

Does anyone have an idea what's going wrong :?:
I would appreciate!

Best regards
Uli
