File Explorer comes pre-installed with ADM and can be used to browse and manage the files on your NAS.

Download stops continuosly close to the end

Post by gianluigi1982 »

It seems that I'm not able to download any file (except txt and very small ones) by using File explorer app.
Download starts but close to the end, it stops with a connection problem.
Does anybody have a similar problem?

Thanks

I have no problems on downloading files with file explorer (I'm using Chrome on Windows). Did you try different browsers? What's your OS on PC?

I had this problem almost continuously with my AS-202T. This device is the smallest of Asustor's NASes and the one with the least memory. As memory would get near 80%, the NAS was extremely inconsistent in file transfers, program operations, etc. In fact I had the same issue, consistently, until I started freeing up memory on the 202T.

It's little better than a WD or Seagate USB drive for functionality. You really can't expect it to do a lot. It just hasn't got the power or memory to do what other vendor's NAS seem able to do.

On the other hand, the 70xx series is a power house. If Asustor would quit breaking the various scripting tools, it could go a long ways to replacing a desktop machine for automated processes. Since this doesn't seem to fit into Asustor's vision, I don't see it happening without some push back from the user community.

Asustor needs to fix the ADM so full repository versions of Perl and Python (And other apps) can be installed straight from source. Instead we get repackaged, limped up, broken or non-functional versions they give us in the App Central.
