Change smart download folder

Download Center is an excellent download manager allows you to easily download and save files to your NAS. Your NAS can effectively replace your computer in helping you with any download jobs.

Change smart download folder

Post by renocz »

Hi Guys,

I had this one my synology and i want to reproduce it on my asustor NAS.

I have in my dropbox a folder called to dl. In this one, i put .torrent files who are synchronized to my Synology NAS and my .torrent files are automaticaly grabbed by the torrent downloading tool and deleted from the folder.

In my Asustor NAS, i'm not able to pick up my dropbox folder in download center interface as the home directory does not appear when you go to preferences\general.

Any solution?

Thanks :)

Other:Raspberry PI XBMC // NUC d34010wyk XBMC 13.0 // Macbook Pro 15" 2013

How about logging in through SSH (e.g. with Putty, admin@nas-ip) to the NAS and running the following command (with appropriate modifications)

Code: Select all

ln -s /volume1/home/[user]/Dropbox/dl /volume1/[Share]/Watchdir
Replace [user] with the username Dropbox is configured on, could be Admin or some other user.
[Share] can be any folder that is accessible through Download Center.

Now in Download Center you would choose [Share]/Watchdir as the directory to watch.

Just a quick hack, as I don't use Download Center myself I don't know what other options are available.

Cheers,
