other torrent clients ?

Download Center is an excellent download manager allows you to easily download and save files to your NAS. Your NAS can effectively replace your computer in helping you with any download jobs.

other torrent clients ?

Post by yogi »

is there any way to get other torrent clients on my AS608-T because the download center won't work with anti-leech trackers,
i.e. rtorrent would be nice

Hi yogi,

Does anti-leech tracker similar with private tracker?
or they are the same thing just in different wording

same thing i guess, closed community, joining by invite etc.

that is why the torrent client needs to offer certain options, i.e.
- switch off DHT, LPD, PEX ...
- forced https
- port mapping
- import certificates

and has to be on the whitelist on those trackers.
usually you will find qtorrent and rtorrent clients there...

I'm going to look at making an app (or 2)...
What's the preference between rTorrent, uTorrent, Transmission? (note.. I'm a usenet person... don't do a lot of Torrents myself)

Ok... I think I'll try and release a apk's for both utorrent and rtorrent.

At this time I have rTorrent running on my 604T, but I need a webUI

For rtorrent, does anyone have suggestions for the best web UI? I found the following options:
-nTorrent
-rTWI
-wTorrent
-n2hell
-P2P-GUI
-gi-torrent
-rtGui
-RTPG
-ruTorrent

my vote would have been for transmission and torrentwatchx theres nice remote utils or web utils for those (https://code.google.com/p/transmisson-remote-gui/) is the one I use. I use these on the qnap and they work nice for torrent/magnet and rss.

Sill unable to get the rss feeds working on download station here :(

just a quick update.

I've been busy and haven't been able to resolve all issues yet.

first. rtorrent needs X (which is annoying since we don't want to view it locally) and I am having difficulties getting it all working.

uTorrent is not open-source and the compiled binaries just don't want to run on Asustor :(

I'll keep working on these and hopefully get something running.

Torrent client of download center actually is transmission, so If you like "transmission remote gui" you can connect to "download center" using port 9999 and login/password: transmission/admin .
