watch_dir high load

Download Center is an excellent download manager allows you to easily download and save files to your NAS. Your NAS can effectively replace your computer in helping you with any download jobs.

watch_dir high load

Post by Norbyte »

Hi,
recently I found that Download Center is generating around 50% CPU load.
To be accurate the watch_dir process which belongs to Download Center.

I didn't have Smart Folder, also happens when DL Center turned orr or even disabled in App central.

Tried to kill the process from termian without success, also tried to install htop 3 and kill from there. Same result, process remained.

Last time when this happened a NAS restart elimimnated the misterious process which appeared with the latest Download Center, prev version doesn't cause such issue.
Current is 1.1.5.r1298, but as I wrote the process remained after disable and app remove, too.
I don't think earlier version install will remove the running process when the app remove didn't do that.

UP: After NAS restart removed the actual version and manual installed the previous 1.1.5.r1280 to check what happens.

I've tested the latest version with no issues. Noticed this Download Center is actually using Transmission v3.0.0 (latest is now v4.0.3). And unlike Download Center, Transmission uses its own daemon to monitor the watch folder.
