Seamless system migration?

Post by mgcan »

Hi Guys,
I am having an issue related to probably – seamless system migration.

I purchased my NAS AS-604T in 2013.

Below is my scenario:

1. I was on ADM 2.7.3.RHQ3
2. Originally, I had 3 disks in Bay 1(3TB), Bay 2 (3TB), Bay 3 (Empty) & Bay 4 (320 GB)
3. I removed all 3 disks
4. I marked the tray 1, 2,3,4 with permanent marker as 1,2,3,4 respectively
5. I installed brand new disk (250gb) in Tray 3
6. I Inserted Tray 3 (250gb) only in Bay 1.
7. After turning on, NAS asked me to initialize and upgrade ADM to version 2.7.3.RI21
8. I initialized new hard disk and also upgrade the ADM version.
9. Everything was working fine and as expected.
10. I turned off the NAS
11. I removed 250gb drive.
12. Again, I inserted back 3 disks in Bay 1(3TB), Bay 2 (3TB), Bay 3 (Empty) & Bay 4 (320 GB)
13. After turning on, I am getting message on ACC – UNINITIALIZED

Why NAS is asking me to initialize the disk?

I downgraded the ADM version to 2.7.3.RHQ3, but still getting same message to INITIALIZE.

Please help me. I have 6GB worth of data in hard drives.

Thanks,

Did you put all of 3 disks to NAS before turning it on? If yes, that's abnormal. You'd better to do nothing now, and send a support request to asustor to check it.

So, basically i'm in the same situation.
How did you solve?
AS-304T
If you own a series 2/3/6 Asustor it's very likely you won't get XBMC 13.x/Kodi.
But easily you'll end buying a kitchen from UK.

Hi dhstsw,

I created ticket with support team, and they remote logged in and fixed the issue. After fixing the issue, he advised me the save the data(6TB) and factory reset the NAS to new version of ADM, so that it has newer file system.

Hope it helps.
