Hi,
just found the note about the new update. It says "Upgrades built in database from MySQL 5.5.20 to MariaDB 10".
MariaDB is nice, no question.
But what happens to all my stuff we have stored in all our MySQL DBs? I don't think I'm the only one using MySQL on the AS-6xx.
DO we have to backup them or does the upgrade from MySQL to MariaDB move all the data sets? I can't find this information, and I doubt I'll like the answer...

Take this with a grain of salt, but the upgrade kept the databases in place. All my extra databases where just fine.

No problems with ownCloud at all. This upgrade actually made it run a bit faster, IMO.

I have a really strange problem after upgrading. My mysql server isn't reachable anymore. It doesn't let me start it, not even through ssh. All summed up, I now have an open ticket at asustor support and all my data seems to be threatened... Let's wait, what the upcoming teamviewer session with support might bring.

Are you using phpMyAdmin to access the SQL/Maria server? And have you logged in with root and the administrator's password? (That's how you have to do it, at least from what I've seen.)
All of the accounts that were generated before this upgrade were deleted, and I had to make all new SQL accounts for ownCloud. (Forgot about that.) As they were all in the web folder, wasn't that big of a deal to redo them, though. I just looked back through the ownCloud web folder and remade from there.
I didn't have a lot, though...

Yes, I use phpmyadmin and user root. I tried the default pw, which should be admin, but that doesn't work. I can't even reset the pw through ADM Web interface. There's just a timeout...

The user account uses the same password as admin does, so if you changed the admin account password, root's has changed, too.
