ADM changing server name and Samba

Hi,

I'm noticing some big problems since I updated to 2.5.1. RB62. The nas keeps resetting it's server name back to default, and also, samba isn't showing up in the Windows 10 network listing. A few days ago, I could see it for awhile, and now again today it's gone. Restarting the nas, or restarting samba does not correct it.

I DO believe some of the problems with the nas showing up in the network listing is because of the latest big update to Windows 10. I have an old sparc ReadyNAS from netgear as well. It runs samba as well, and it no longer shows up in Windows too.

Is anyone else having problems similar to this?

I believe you should send a support request to asustor. I did not encounter that NAS resets samba server name automatically.

I've been having a few disappearing too. Seems the Forum Genies are hard at work censoring our posts. It's beginning to look like the usefulness of this forums is at an end, between the constant deluge of porn and deleting posts critical of Asustor or particular users, the really good information just can't be found easily anymore.

I wonder if someone wants to start their own boards, with minimum posts required for links and photos, etc. And a much better user experience than this BB engine has.

Well I was banned for a bit. They wrote me and apologized saying they banned the wrong person. So all is good now
