Hi Guys
Well after being pretty excited to get my 608T, I had completed copying 4TB of data to the new device. I powered it off, and then powered it back on, only to find volume 1 inaccessible and disk 1 and disk 2 have gone 'missing'.
Prior to copying all my data, I had diligently completed all upgrades to ADM. I mistakenly thought that after it had been running nice and smooth, I would give my other disks to a friend who promptly used them (and formatted them) for his NAS.
So, I have made a huge mistake. Now I have no access to all my data, and no backup.
I am desperate for some help please people! Does anyone have any idea what to do in this situation?
Many many thanks in advance
Please help! 608T Day 3. 2 Missing disks. Lost all data. No backup yet!!

I suggest you open a support ticket with Asustor

Yeah I did same day - think they had a holiday as no one has responded yet.
I got super lucky yesterday. After moving drives around and switching off/on for about the 20th time, the array magically came back.
Someone up there is looking after me.
Made a successful backup of all my data. Breathing a massive sigh of relief right now..
Initially I had configured a RAID 5 and as mentioned 'lost' two disks. It prompted me to rethink the RAID level.
For those who are interested in some tests I ran:
ASUSTOR 608T RAID 6 Performance: 85MB/s Read/Write
ASUSTOR 608T RAID 10 Performance: 110MB/s Read/Write
Going to stick with RAID 10.

You'd better to do disk bad block scan to make sure the disks being good.

How frequent we should set the bad block scan? Weekly or monthly? Thanks.

In my case, I only did once for the brand new disks. It's a time consuming task. And fewer access should gain longer life time of disks (I guess). Of course, I do RAID protection (single failure protection) to protect my data.noobitol wrote:How frequent we should set the bad block scan? Weekly or monthly? Thanks.
