AS-608T - Cannot Access Shared Folders under Access Control

Post by n2vwz »

I just purchased an AS-608T and am trying to configure NFS parameters.

I am logged in as admin. When I select Access Control and click on the Shared Folder icon, a small loading box with a spinning circle appears, but the application never loads. All of the other icons under Access Control become grayed out preventing exit.

The same happens when I log into Live Demo, select Access Control, and then Shared Folders - The system hangs!

Because of this, I am unable to configure the NFS permissions.

What is causing this problem? What is the solution?

Seems to be a Firefox problem. It's working with IE 10. I'm running Windows 7, 64bit.

Is there a special setting in Firefox that is needed to access Shared Folders?

This is weird.

I have no problem loading the Shared Folder page. I have tried both Firefox and Chrome (demo.asustor.com) on a Win7 64bit PC.

Perhaps you can install firebug for your Firefox and see what goes wrong.
Or we can also check this issue with you, but we will need to set up a remote desktop connection with you. Let me know if you want to do that, okay? :)

I will try installing Firebug tonight. For some reason, Firefox is not running the "CGI" associated with the "Shared Folders" icon. All of the other folders load without any problems. I can also try bringing up Firefox in safe mode to prevent the plugins from loading. The recent versions of Firefox seem to be more troublesome than the older versions (I've had other issues with Firefox).

I was able to get NFS configured using IE10. So far I'm very happy with the AS-608T. Transfer rates are 4 to 5 times faster than the ReadyNAS NV that it is replacing.

By the way - Which version of Firefox are you running? I'm using 20.0.1

I disabled Firefox plugins and it started working. In the process, I lost all of my local settings (bookmarks, passwords, etc). I did a clean reinstall of Firefox and now everything's good.

Good to know you have found the root cause : )

Actually some of the plugins may affect the web browsing. I encountered the same issue before while using Chrome, and it works again after disabling some Chrome plugins.
