Something has happened in the last week but I can not figure it out. I have searched but not found the issue posted.
does anyone know what this is? I've attached the error in a jpg.

Check ADM web -> System Information -> Log (and On-line user). Did you see a failed login?

No I don't. I did shut it down, reseated the internal hard drives and it is working now (the issue was appearing however I tried to access internal storage, either from ADM or on my network).
What I do see is 1000's of sftp login failures from a myriad of ip's..just set up autoblack list and it is working a treat.. my other 6302T has been getting tons of Samba requests from my Onkyo receiver... have to look at that now too.

i continue to have this issue pop up.
on the NAS it says it is in Read Only Mode.

Where did you see "Read Only Mode"? You should provide more detailed info.
By the way, it's not a good idea to open your NAS to public internet (tones of failed login trials). Do it only if you can setup network in very secure way.
