Hi
I have a AS6204T and tried to use 2x4GB modules from Samsung, but with both installed it won't boot and stops on the "starting system - Please wait" message.
When i just have 1 of them installed, everything works as normal. The only differences i can find is that one is 1R8 and the other is 2R8.

Without seeing the exact part number and model name of the ram you purchased it is safe to assume that they are not identical and therefore not compatible in a dual channel memory configuration. When installing memory in any dual channel configuration be it a motherboard, NAS drive etc. you should always use identical memory pairs, even better would be to use a tested pair sold specifically for dual channel operation.

For what its worth, Crucial 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3L 1600 MT/s (PC3L-12800) SODIMM 204-Pin Memory - CT2KIT51264BF160B will work just fine. Been using it for a long time now in my AS6202T with no problems.

Sounds like this may be the problem.MonsMagnus wrote:Without seeing the exact part number and model name of the ram you purchased it is safe to assume that they are not identical and therefore not compatible in a dual channel memory configuration. I will have a look into that.MonsMagnus wrote:For what its worth, Crucial 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3L 1600 MT/s (PC3L-12800) SODIMM 204-Pin Memory - CT2KIT51264BF160B will work just fine. Been using it for a long time now in my AS6202T with no problems.
