Hello
I am looking at buying the AS-604T and also upgrading my router to the new ASUS RT-AC66U.
After checking through the compatability list of Routers for the AS-604T I noticed that many of the new ASUS routers,
in particular the RT-AC66U - Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Router.
Can you please advise as to why the new ASUS wireless routers are not in the compatibility list.
Is the ASUS RT-AC66U or RT-N66U wireless routers compatible or not?
RT-N66U - http://www.asus.com/au/Networking/RTN66U/
RT-AC66U - http://asuswireless.com.au/802-11ac/ or http://www.asus.com/au/Networking/RTAC66U/
Thanks
Chirpy

Re: ASUSTOR compatabily with ASUS Wireless Routers
Hi Chirpy,
We have test RT-N66U & RT-AC66U, but we found that EZ-Router (A port forwarding function on ADM ) has compatibility issue with some specific ports (e.g. 21,22,80,443). That's why we don't put both model on our list.
However, If you can configure port forwarding function on ASUS router manually. ASUSTOR NAS can work with ASUS router smoothly.

Do you expect that this is an issue with all dual band routers?
I would still like to buy an Asus dual band as they appear to outperform a lot of the competition.
I use a lot of Asus pruducts thats why I am looking at their NAS drives.
Surely Asustor a subsiduary of Asus while want to ensure cross compatabilty.
Is the port issue you mentioned a possible firmware fix.
I would hate to buy the new Asus router only to downgrade its features so it becomes compatable with the NAS.
Any thoughts

After checking on the ASUS router site they show no listings for ASUS NAS in their compatability site.
http://event.asus.com/networks/nas%5Fhdd/
Are there any prefered/suggested routers in particlar (dual band) for your NAS''s?
Should i be researching the effects on performance by port forwarding the ASUS RT-AC66U or RT-N66U.
