Joining AS602T with AS5202T
I am looking to upgrade my current AS602T with the AS5202T and was wondering if it is possible to link the two units together therefore doubling my storage capacity?

What do you mean "link"? I think you should try to mount CIFS shares of the old AS602T to the new AS5202T. Then you can access the old data on the new NAS.

I was thinking, is it possible to link the two units (via ethernet) so that i can see all 4 drives through the new NAS?

Hi,
... this require that samba will be compile with --with-msdfs option ... seem it's not the case BUT only Asustor support can send you a sure response
... I have to check for the Entware version of samba (in this case you must configure all yourself)
As an alternative (but less managed) you can :
... validate symlink in samba and create symlink to CIFS share mount point ... but as I know Windows ACL is not supported (not a problem with NAS if you don't use it)
... so mount via cifs share, create (one time) the symlink , change smb.conf, restart samba (not tested on Asustor) ATTENTION seem smb.conf is regenerated at each boot ...
BUT nothing (as I know) easy ... but also nothing is destructive so you can go back easily.

Seems you want to have D.F.S. on Linux in Sambachalky wrote:I was thinking, is it possible to link the two units (via ethernet) so that i can see all 4 drives through the new NAS?
