Memory compatibility AS6604T

Post by cristakke »

Hello :D

Is my first topic on the forum and I want to say a big HELLO to community.
Thank you in advance for your support.

I have a big issue about memory upgrade to LOCKERSTOR 4 - AS6604T. In my region all memory recommended by Asustor website is not available. The local sales has no clue and don't give a s... about this.
I try with some other brands like Team Group memory at DDR4-2400, 1.2V, 260Pin SO-DIMM - 4GB and didn't work. Also I try with some memory ram from my ASUS notebook with DDR4 - 2666 and also was a big failure.
I do not have money to spend all the way around with all 4gb / 8gb memory modules on the market. I send email to ASUSTOR support and they send me to the local representative ..and as wrote earlier ... No nothing.
Please give me some memory advice, tested and verified to put in my NAS, even is an bigger then 4gb, maybe 8 or 16 gb. Also maybe someone had also upgraded with some Nmve who is compatible also with Lockerstor 4, for future upgrade.

Thank you again for advice and support
Best

The AS6604T's memory is officially expandable up to 8GB (2x4GB).

The compatibility list includes KD48GS88C-26N1900 - https://www.klevv.com/ken/products_deta ... ard_memory
So the two potential retail alternatives would be:
4GB (4GBx1) KD44GS481-26N190A
8GB (4GBx2) KD44GS481-26N190D

SPAN are selling a 16GB version - https://www.span.com/product/Asustor-Lo ... 5GbE~73433 - so presumably the KLEVV 8GB variants would also be an option:
8GB (8GBx1) KD48GS88C-26N190A
16GB (8GBx2) KD48GS88C-26N190D

You could also try contacting SPAN to find out what RAM they're using.

There's even tests done on the same CPU (though in a different NAS) getting it to support 32GB (2x16GB) - https://nascompares.com/2020/06/15/qnap ... ade-guide/ - it also lists the tested RAM modules, so that might give you some more to go on, even if you don't go for 32GB.

For all of this though, a large, flashing 'YMMV' disclaimer is needed. Hope that's of some help, best of luck!

Think I read somewhere the first 4gb ram module is hard to reach kind of purposely sealed off. So technically it's harder to test larger modules i.e. 8x8 but of course one can try dismantle it. It would be great to see 16 or even 32gb on this NAS.

Well just tried today to upgrade my AS6604T with 2x16Gb Crucial 2666Mhz (Crucial CT2K16G4SFRA266 Memory Kit 32 GB (DDR4, 2666 MT/s, PC4-21300, SODIMM, 260 pins) ... not successful yet...

2 Dimms (32Gb) ... no restart ... green light keeps blinking and nothing happens...
1 dimm of 16GB same issue...

Anyone heard about a success somewhere or shall I head back to 2x8Gb? (16GB)

Hi ...
Yesterday I found some answer on Youtube, but I do not tested and verify myself the RAM Memory, but I expected to have next week and if it's ok... I put the results here ...
Also they tested the Nmve and SSD from Goodram... and is compatible but they do not do the stability test ... Will see ...
