Fomatting Drives

Post by tadgh99 »

Hi,

Just bought an AS3102T-v2 (moving from a DLink DNS-325). I want to move the drives across to the Asustor.

I realise that will mean losing all the data, but I've backed it all up and wiped the drives.

My question is, what do I need to prepare the hard drives for installation? I've removed the previous RAID flags and the drives are now format free and unallocated.

Do I need to re-format them (Ext2/3/4, BTRF) or just place them in the NAS and run the initialisation?

Thanks in advance

Simply put your disks into NAS, then power NAS on.
Use Asustor Control Center software in PC to find NAS, launch a browser, follow the initialization wizard.
