Hello,
If a NAS with 6 gigabit/s HDD's and two Gigabit Ethernet ports connected with Cat6 to a Gigabit switch why does a disc speed checker only show 100 mb/s
With link aggregation you would see 200 mb/s
Why so low?
Thanks

Hi,
With one link at 1 giga BIT ... you can expect 100 Mega BYTES not 100 Mega BITS ???
Aggregation link DON'T double the throughput, first because if you use ONE connection, the data are NOT split on the 2 Gigabit link and use only one (even switching from one to the other) ... aggregation win throughput when you have multiple connections at same time. The result is better, but due to the protocol and the transport frame windows, the result is lower 1 1/2 is a good result.
So you never double your throughput for a unique connection ...
Philippe.
