Networking Question

Post by jc333 »

I have one free 5Gbe port on my switch. Could I connect both of the 2.5Gbe ports (with aggregation) on the Nimbustor 4 to it via a splitter to get a 5Gbe connection?

I'm sure that this will be far to easy to be true. :D

Many thanks.

What's your splitter? Normally your network switch should own 2 or more high speed ports (>= 2.5 Gb).

I only have one free port on my switch which is 5Gbe. I thought that by taking the line from that and then connecting the two 2.5Gbe ports on the NAS by using a 2-1 adapter (splitter) I could get a full 5Gbe connection.

I have it connected to this port already and get a 2.5 connection.

It was just a daft thought. Thanks for your reply.
