Re: Expanding a RAID1 array

Sorry, I have been away for a while and did not follow this thread, issue looks resolved now but I still have some questions.

What was the initial problem with the procedure followed by OP? Was some wrong / missed step positively identified or the damage was just patched manually so system works and data is safe now so this is enough?

Is Raid 1 to be trusted in case of HDD1 (slot 1) failure?

What is the (exact, detailed) procedure for recovering from such incident?

Can the system recover on its own at all or a separate Linux 'repair computer' must be on standby?

Where is the documentation for all of this, separate scenarios, step by step reliable recovery procedures etc, does it even exist?

Was the issue ADM version related and if so which ADM versions are affected?

Hope the OP is still watching this thread or someone else could offer some insight cause if recovery from a Raid 1 HDD1 (slot 1) failure can't be trusted to be straightforward then what is the worth of this implementation of Raid 1 in the first place?

Looks like a 'Break RAID 1' tool by Asustor is in immediate need. Or a detailed manual procedure to the same effect.

Just my 2c.
