Disk LED constantly showing activity
Is it normal for the disk LED to always be active and flashing? Are my disk's never going into sleep mode? It is set to the default of 30 minutes.

If it's a new system, it could be syncing the raid across the disks. If you are doing any kind of torrenting or other downloading, then the drives are having constant drive activity, too, which prevents them from going to sleep.

It's fairly new but it's been running for about 2 weeks now. No torrenting and also shut down my plex server which pulls it's library from it and nothing changing. And I have a raid 0 and run backups to an external. That external is not even plugged in at the moment. When there is no activity is the LED solid or off?

It's solid if there is nothing going on at all.
And any process at all is that reads or writes to the disk is going to be keeping them awake. And I answered this on the Plex forums, too. (Same guy on both.)

Re: Disk LED constantly showing activity
I have the same problem just started on my As5002T - both discs are constantly churning. Checking activity I find Soundsgoodd process is running - using around 40% of the processor - then sleeping for 1 or 2 seconds then running again. Can I disable/delete Soundsgood and the soundsgoodd process and then reinstall if required later?
EDIT- Sorted - found how to delete it and I know if required I can re-install.
Is it possible to back up the os in case of corruption? Or is that just a case of d/l adm onto a stick and pluging it in?
