I am going to do some more testing today and try to eliminate any possibilities of layer 1 issues with the config. Also, Asustor is acquiring the exact model switch as me to configure in a lab with our nas. Talk about excellent customer service :-D
cheers, turned off and the lag is still up and running on both qnap and asustor, if anything lan side seems smooother.

customer service is good, and the hardware seems great too. I hope they don't go down the same road as their competitors and start adding bells and whistles before they get the basics fully sorted. Its nice to say your nas supports 'x,y & z' but nicer to have a rock solid nas where 'b' isn't broken for some folks :)

Net gear had my flash an updated firmware that fixes a bug with setting local time on the switch. I have yet to test LACP with the new firmware. I will post my finding when I do.
