Unable to upload file into File Explorer

Post by andy8 »

Hi,

Whenever I try uploading files into the File explorer interface, the upload runs to a few percentages and then fails. The message I see is: Unable to upload file.
This has only been happening since yesterday. I can confirm that the hard drive is quite new (only a few days old), and was purchased directly from Seagate. The drive health
is also normal.

Not sure how to resolve this issue.

Steps that I did:
Upload a file into File explorer. The upload starts, runs a for a few percentage of completion, and then Stops on its own. It then reports 'Unable to upload file' in its Log.

Does anyone know how to resolve this error ? Thanks!

I seldom use this but I just tested a 13GB upload on the latest firmware 4.1.0.RJ72 and it's working fine. Do you also have the same issue with other protocols i.e. SMB? Suggest you open a ticket with Asustor Support.

Thanks for the reply @Nazar78, I opened a ticket with them and they mentioned it could be due to very lengthy file names and that it is this:

"There is a universal character limit for files and paths under DOS (Windows). Change the file name and try again"

It seems to work now :)
