Can't install Home Assistant on AS6604T

Post by Araneum »

Hi there,

I am trying to install the app Home Assistant on my AS6604-T through App Central, but the app is not downloading/installing at all.

Docker is installed, but when pressing "install" (for Home Assistant) the little wheel animation keeps turning, but there is no download.

Any tips would be welcome...

Probably the download server is slow, it happens. Just refresh after a moment see if it's loaded. You can also check in docker see if it's up and running: docker ps -a
AS5304T - 16GB DDR4 - ADM-OS modded on 2GB RAM
Internal:
- 4x10TB Toshiba RAID10 Ext4-Journal=Off
External 5 Bay USB3:
- 4x2TB Seagate modded RAID0 Btrfs-Compression
- 480GB Intel SSD for modded dm-cache (initramfs auto update patch) and Apps

I have tried it multiple times on different days without success.

How (where?) do I check if Docker is 'up and running'?

I'm not familiar with Docker :(

You can manually download then install it from the App Central Management. https://appdownload.asustor.com/0010_99 ... x86-64.apk

SSH into the NAS, then run the command:

Code: Select all

docker ps -a
You can Google more about Docker commands. You can also install the Portainer app from the App Central to manage Docker in GUI mode.

Docker is up and running.

I manually downloaded the apk for Home Assistent. Now the animation of a turning wheel is gone and it shows a progress bar (for installing?), but it will not finish...???

The HA image itself is 1.2GB, so depends on your internet connection. I'm not using it but I just tested installing, it does take some time but not too long, around 15secs for my 1Gbps internet.

Code: Select all

root@Nimbustor4:~# docker image ls
REPOSITORY TAG IMAGE ID CREATED SIZE
homeassistant/home-assistant latest 29761151f4c1 14 hours ago 1.2GB
