Volume does not recognize added disks

Post by Spector »

I have an AS6210T and I had 6 8TB Ironwolf Drives in a RAID6 Configuration. I have 2 256Gb SDD drives for r/w cache. I have added drives as my data needs have increased with no issues in the past. Four days ago I installed 2 8TB Ironwolf drives into the remaining bays and used the Storage Manager\Volume\Management\Raid to "Add disk(s) to this Volume" The system instructed me to "unmount" the cache drives first. After the Cache was unmounted the NAS Began "Migrating" the two drives. This took four days (This is not uncommon) After the process was completed the drive were show to be "listed" in the RAID6 Overview but the volume size did not reflect the additional disks.

I have:

Rebooted
Unmounted the cache
Mounted the cache
Rebooted
Tried the Storage Manager\Volume\Management\Expand Volume button

The mapped drives in window indicate the same volume size without the additional disk.

Any clues on how to fix this?

I have a call into US Tech Support.

Did you get a response to this problem. I've just added a disc to my RAID 5 and have the same issue: the drive is shown in the array but no increase in capacity.

Resolved.

Tech support spent weeks resolving this issue.

One of the issues was that you need to have at least 10% free space in the volumes.

Tony Chen fixed me up. He a really good tech.
