bad block scanning vs. RAID scrubbing

I have already enabled per disk bad block scanning on a schedule. Now I just noticed I could also run RAID scrubbing. I know they complement each other. But I can't seem to find any discussion of the two together.
I don't want to be doing wasteful work. It seems this should be sufficient:
I don't want to be doing wasteful work. It seems this should be sufficient:
- while bad block scanning continues to succeed on my disks, there is no really value in doing periodic RAID scrubbing.
- if bad block scanning finds a problem, then run RAID scrubbing and as soon as practical replace the failing disk.
