Hi All,
I did start an original thread here
viewtopic.php?f=103&t=11045&p=35774#p35774
But its expanded a bit and I had misinformation regarding I had it working.. (sorry admin)
My queston is I bought my Asustor AS6302T soley to take advantage of the HDMI conenct to my main TV to watch my movie library VIA HDMI..NOT streaming over the network (network heavy traffic in my house)
I do feel I have been misold the product to some extent.
So my basic question is, has any Asustor user got any video/media player working via direct HDMI?
Emby and PLex do not work direct via HDMI, each player works via their respective LG TV app via ethernet, but that is not the point.
thank you in advance
Is anyone using a media player via HDMI..NOT streaming over network?

Re: Is anyone using a media player via HDMI..NOT streaming over network?
Hi,
One of the solutions can be : myHD APKG
... offering Kodi17 / 18 and 19 as direct HDMI Player
... offering Plex Media Player (using Plex server but not the web player) as direct HDMI player
etc.
certainly other solutions exist ...
F.Y.I. myHD is a sort of embedded Ubuntu 18.04 Linux in an isolated environment
... require only default (up to date) Xorg and Asportal from Asustor
... use an internal Ubuntu tools to avoid any problems (libraries or ... ) with the new versions of the players ...
It's just a little more complex, but command line tools and Web UI exist to help you as possible to simplify management.
Philippe.

Hi, thanks for your reply, but I cannot believe an off the shelf official app doesn't exist!?
I feel I've been mis-sold the product.
Has nobody else had this problem?
Emby & Plex are main players so why no support for DIRECT HDMI?
Cheers
