Hi all. First post here so please be gentle!
I am not a very experience NAS user. Mostly I use it as a media player and photo storage unit. I started with a WD MyCloud and got to know that OS pretty well but I recently changed to a new Asustor Nimbus 4.
I'm slowly finding my way through the new ADM OS but I can't find a way to access my files remotely using a mobile phone, as I used to do with the old MyCloud.
In the past, the MyCloud OS had a function by which I could browse files on the NAS remotely and email them all on my phone.
I know I can use EZ-Connect to make some of my folders shared folders but what do I do after that? Can I email them from there?
Any help appreciated.
Also some advice on how to set up a mail server, if anyone can help... that would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Remote file access using phone
You create a shared link on a file or a folder. Mail the link to anyone that you want to share.
Mail server is kind of complex. You'll need to own a domain name and a public IP first.

To access your files remotely have you tried the aidata app?
Locate your photo on the NAS then lots of share options to choose from - one being email.

Okay, thanks. Presumably this can be done through the AI app?orion wrote:You create a shared link on a file or a folder. Mail the link to anyone that you want to share.
Right. Not planning to have one of those at this stage. Thanks for clearing that up.Mail server is kind of complex. You'll need to own a domain name and a public IP first.

Yes but I can't get it to see what I need it to see. I'm guessing this is what Orion was referring to WRT creating a shared folder, which I kind of suspected was the case.wde wrote:To access your files remotely have you tried the aidata app?

So far I haven't been able to connect.
Thanks anyway.

Yes, AiData. Login to NAS -> Go to the directory where you can see files -> Click top-right icon (edit icon) -> Select files or folders that you want to share -> Click share link icon below -> Setup expiration date / password.BorisBadenov wrote: Okay, thanks. Note: You should change LAN to WAN in the final setup process.

Thanks. I think that makes sense to me now.
