for reasons of changing the two ssds currently used as read/write cache for a 4-disk raid5 setup, I wanted to disable said cache.
Unfortunately this does not work. The corresponding dialog appears waits about a minute and is then shown as completed. However the cache is still attached. It seems to be however now in state of being in the process of detachment, as dmsetup shows:
Code: Select all
root@raziel:/volume1/.@root # dmsetup table /dev/mapper/md2_c
0 46856626176 cache 252:0 252:1 9:2 128 0 cleaner 0
root@raziel:/volume1/.@root # dmsetup status /dev/mapper/md2_c

Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this problem. I could remove the cache manually, however I fear that the stormand will try and set it up again after the next reboot. Does anyone know, where this configuration is stored on the NAS.
I already created a corresponding ticket with asustor, but they seem not really interested in their customers, as there has been absolutely no response yet. The hardware is really nice of those devices, but the software is kind of unacceptable for a storage system in this price range.
