Hi,
I'm filling a 100 TB RAID0 volume under Public but when I display Drive Usage under Activity Monitor I see a huge space of 6.89 TB labeled as Other.
What is it ?
Where is it ?
Can I delete or free this space ?
On a similar older volume2 in JBOD, that Other space is 1.23 TB.
Is this normal ?
Salutations.
NAS is a AS6510T with 8 x 14 TB drives running ADM 4.1.0.RLQ1
What and where is Other in Disk Usage ?

Probably the thumbnails. I used to have tons of it in '/volume?/.@thumbnail/' until I removed them then disabled the thumbnails scheduling in the settings as I don't need it. Now my 'Other' reads zero bytes.

Thank you for your answer.Nazar78 wrote:Probably the thumbnails. I used to have tons of it in '/volume?/.@thumbnail/' until I removed them then disabled the thumbnails scheduling in the settings as I don't need it. Now my 'Other' reads zero bytes.
I have just checked with WinSCP and these folders under volume2 are empty :
.@CNID
.@system (1 file 1 KB)
.@thumbnail
.@tmp
.@trashcan
lost+found
Only Public has files because that is where I copy my files.
And under Settings, Scheduling, Thumbnails, I have selected Peak Hours (Disable background processing).
This morning, the volume stats have changed :
Public : 78.33 TB
Other : 3.36 TB
Free : 19.74 TB
So, Other has lost more than half of its volume during the night and for what reason ?
Any other idea of what uses Other with TB of space ?
Two hours later I did a refresh on the Drive Usage graph and the Other space has fallen to 351 MB. I bet that those who know what causes this will not tell us.
