Read-only-Mode (Ref. 5026)

Post by mixe »

Hello,

since a few days my Lockerstor 4 - AS 6604T has the failure message: "The system is currently in read-only mode and cannot perform this function. (Ref. 5026)" when i open the App Central.

I also cant copy-paste files to the nas via Windows Samba; Failure Message: "The medium is write-protected".
I can´t delete any files in ADM Data Explorer; failure message: "Unknown Error (Ref. 5026)"

I really dont know what i´ve changed; except the last firmware upgrade a few weeks ago. But since i used the NAS not much at that time i cant say if the failure is since the upgrade...

Can someone help me?

Thanks in advance,
Mixe

Did you login as admin? If yes, I think you should send a support ticket to asustor: https://support.asustor.com/. Mine is just fine.

I´ve done that. For the knowledge the answer of Asustor support:

a) The volume displays a "read-only" status.
This means that the volume is experiencing a major file system error.
Therefore, to avoid damaging the data, it stops write access.

b) Please start by backing up your data (on external hard drive, Cloud etc).

c) Once done, I will have to delegate the repair (if reparing is possible) of the filesystem to an expert engineer on this subject.
To do this, proceed as follows
1) activate the terminal in ADM
2) open port 22 in EZ-Router (if Ez-router, make sure the check mark is green) or manually in your router
3) provide your Cloud ID (ADM - Settings - Ez Connect)
4) temporarily change your admin account password
5) provide the temporary password which I send to the expert engineer.

Very nice... i will report again.

Hello,
so, was not a system crash but a bug!
According to Asustor support, the storage space was full due to too many snapshots. Although there was still free disk space displayed.

"Can we remove the volume snapshots?
The read only seems caused by the snapshots using out the available capacity."
