I currently have two drives configured in RAID 1.0 in a four bay Nimbus. Is it possible to expand this (adding new drives, of course) by converting to RAID 5 on the fly or does it delete everything to change the RAID config?
Any help appreciated.

Thank you very much. Exactly what I needed. I was unable to find that... probably using the wrong search terms!

Philippe.
I ask because I have, yesterday done the exact same thing. Migrate from 2 disk raid1 to 4 disk raid5 on my week old AS6404T. It brought the new drives in OK but when I tried to expand available storage ( a step I don't think is in the guide but is needed to make use of the extra space) it failed with an error. I rebooted the NAS to see if that cleared it and now my volume is unavailable and the front page of Storage Manager says "error - System Failure"
I have a fault out with Asustor now awaiting feedback.
Just be careful if you haven't done it yet is all I can say.

I had no difficulty at all and I have since added a fourth drive.
Did you get your problem sorted out?
