Hello, I am considering either 3102T or 3202T as my first NAS. Primary usage scenario is media library/server, to replace my current setup of media stick accessing content from desktop PC.
I do not need the cost or redundancy of full RAID1, but I am wondering if setup like this would be possible:
- 2-bay NAS populated by one 8Tb HDD and one 1Tb HDD. No RAID, each HDD is shown as its own volume.
- 8Tb HDD holds my multimedia library AND backs up important documents from my desktop PC.
- 1Tb HDD backs up the important documents from 8Tb HDD to create a second redundant copy of important data.
I am wondering if this is possible and reasonably easy to set up.
Thank you in advance!
Specific setup - is this possible on Asustor?

hi
Yes , it's possible. So it works for me between 2 NAS, on two different locations, threw internet. Here is the doc you need for that : http://download.asustor.com/college/en/ ... Rsync).pdf

Thank you for the reply. If you could clarify - your example syncs folders between two NAS boxes. What I am asking is if it is possible to sync between two drives in the same NAS (that are not in RAID).
