hi

what are the main advances and differences between these 2 devices?
i'm asking cause i've bought 4x10tb hdd's and to get the data from the old 6tb drives in a 5104 to the new ones safely, i've bought a cheap 6104 to "just" copy the data.
when this'll be finished i have to sold one, but i'm not sure which of them.
the display thing and 4k doesn't matter....

thx alot!

You should keep 6104 of course. AS-6104 equips the newer CPU (than 5104).

yes i know that the 6104 got the newer cpu.
but when you compare both cpu's there's a significant better geekbench aes single core performance:
http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-J3060-vs- ... eron-J1900

but i don't know under which conditions this plays out.
at this time i use the 5104 only as a media center with kodi, but in the near future i want to set up a virtual machine.
in this case the possibility to upgrade the 6104 with 2x8gb ram is an advantage over the 5105 with 1x8gb only.

and when i've got enough time, i also want to use the nas for surveillance too.

still not sure.......

i think you mean 5104 cause there's no 5105 modell out there ;-)

no officaly, but it works and 16gb would be recognized

but in the mean time, there's another player in the game: qnap ts-453a
for 390€ i couldn't say no and i think this will be the winner for me
