Registration required for additional functionality?

I have an Asustor. I haven't registered it yet because I am not sure if I want to keep it. There are some nice features like cloud drive and apps that I want to use, but I don't want to register with Asustor if that means this NAS is going to be tied to me, preventing me from reselling it. Can the name be unregistered and does the registration process send any private information to Asustor servers, things like serial, model numbers, etc? TIA.

You can simply just download the apps from Asustor website and install manually in App Central.

I don't think there is any issue with registering the NAS. I've sold one in the past after having it registered for a few years and the buyer had no issue with the sold NAS and registering it for himself.
