Usage questions

Post by jiten_tech »

Hi,

I would like to buy AS-202TE/ 302 and have 2 questions,

First One, Say in a scenario,

1) XBMC playing to a local HDMI connected TV with audio-video on TV (maybe kid watching a movie) and,
2) Soundsgood playing to connected Bluetooth head phones and playing an audio (say i am un-intrested in kids movies and decided to listen to audio)
3) Another application, say subsonic to keep playing some soothing music to wired speakers(with amp.) in garden.

Can 3 separate applications provide Audio/ Video output simultaneously? Limitations?

Second Question, Is it possible to setup the power control on the IR remote to put the NAS to sleep and bring it back. Would the applications that were active at the time device being put in sleep be active again automatically?

Thanks

Hi Jit,

The 3 separate applications will be able to audio/video output simultaneously.

However, please note that:
1) Your web browser must be open for SoundsGood to continue playing music.
2) For Subsonic, the "Web player" can be used to do this. But we are not sure about the the other options, as Subsonic is a 3rd party App and not developed by us. Please see the screenshot below

It is possible to use the IR remote to put the NAS to sleep and to wake it. But in order to use the remote to put the NAS to sleep you would have to do it via the ASUSTOR Portal interface (you would have to have your TV/monitor on). Our AiMaster mobile app can handle this job (sleep and wake) without having to go through the ASUSTOR Portal interface. Putting the NAS to sleep is like restarting the device, so any applications that resume operation after a restart will be able to do so after the NAS is woken from sleep.

Thanks for your questions,

Allen
