302T or 602T

I need some answers for a decision. I stream to a PS3 which doesn't play MKV's and a Samsung Smart TV which does play MTS. Do I need the 302T with the transcoding capabilities or can the 602T with Plex perform the same function. There is a good deal on a 602T right now.

Plex should be able to transcode them.
