I've been *very* happy with my AS204TE
I'd now like to start using it as a cloud solution for myself / family along with the other apps we current run on it.
I'm currently a dropbox user, as well a google drive user, so I'm familiar with those. Both work very well, smooth, functional etc. Particularly via Android mobile devices.
That being said, I've done some reading on the different cloud apps within the Asustor App Center.
IT looks like WonderBox and ownCloud are favored over xCloud.
Anyone have any first hand experience in using either application with your laptops and mobile devices?
Thank you.

Being impatient, I've learned that Wonderbox and xCloud are both a POS.
On to owncloud.

I've tried bittorrent sync & owncloud. I prefer bittorrent sync.

Re: Cloud Applications - Save me some braindamage please
This is a great thread - thanks for posting it. As a result of reading this, I have checked out the various solutions mentioned and I too favour BitTorrent Sync. I have it installed and running now and it seems to work really well. The only issue I found is that it sometimes takes quite a while to start the sync, although once started it runs really quickly. So, for example, if you're syncing your photos off of your phone and you've just taken one, it might be quite a while before it appears on your NAS. I tried turning off the option to only sync every 30 mins but that didn't speed it up. It could really do with a Sync Now! button. Apart from that minor niggle it works really well.
Kind Regards
Steve

i use owncloud and love it, works ok from android phones and tablets, works from pc and macbook. I like the way on android I can set it to upload images direct to my server when taken, I don't need to use 3rd party storage, shared files are easily accessible over the entire platform.
yes it can be a little fiddly to setup but for me the end result is worth it
