Doubts about AS6004U

Post by madmalkav »

I'm considering buying a AS6602T , it should be sufficient for my current needs, but if I want to expand om the future with an AS6004U, can I mix the disk on the AS6602T and the disks on the AS6004U in a single RAID, or they must be two different, independent RAID?

You'll need to create separate RAID volumes.

That is OK. My question however: am I able to set the expansion unit to RAID 5 if I have an AS6602T (which is only capable RAID 1)?

Yes, you can create RAID-5 volume using expansion disks. The only limitation is that you cannot combine internal disks and expansion disks to create a RAID volume.
