Updated ADM yesterday, and the encrypted transmission field for user name is no longer fixed on "root". Yay!
However, it is still trying to connect to the first port (873) with the RSYNCD protocol. I could verify that by pointing to a local linux server.
What am I doing wrong?

Re: [Backup & Restore - Remote Sync] - extend rsync
I see that the latest updates do let me change the root user for SSH....
But it still tries to connect to the server address in the top part of the remote sync form via regular rsync protocol, even if I change the port to 22. I can see it trying on a test server:
Has anyone managed to get this working?

Would there be a support ticket to refer to ?soundy wrote:Good news rsync'ers! I had an exchange with support and pointed them to this thread. The anomaly is acknowledged and will be rectified in a near-future update. So, fingers crossed aye.

Re: [Backup & Restore - Remote Sync] - extend rsync
Hello,
Is there any way to make rsync works without a destination using only ssh, without the rsync deamon?
Exactly as you can do with the following command line: rsync -a /var/www user@12.12.12.12:/var/www/
Thanks,

One year later, ADM 4 had arrived and we still do not have a working standard rsync feature....doccaz wrote:That is great news! Thanks!

And... one and a half years later, it's still not solved.
