Surveillance plugin-less web client

We are in 2019. Any chance of working surveillance web client without plugin, which limits its functionality to MS Windows ?
I see Asustor is taking much from open source community, yet it doesn't support open source users...
I'm waiting few years now for proper working client on linux platform. Any sign of it on horizon ?
