Adding storage with a multi-bay usb enclosure

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has had any luck adding storage over USB using a multi-bay drive enclosure?

I have an 8 bay and 4 bay Mediasonic enclosure that fail to initialize a single drive contained in them.

Individual drives work just fine, also a USB hub with multiple individual drives work as well.

I guess I should have clarified non-Asustor multi-bay enclosures. While I would love to keep it in the family there is a hefty premium for that.

Synology wins again!

Plugged my Mediasonic ProBox (8 bay) enclosure into the Synology 220+ and all 8 drives were immediately available to me.
