Volume inaccessible

Post by shaneme123 »

Hello, have the AS6604T running 3.5.5.RFC3. Had three 6T Ironwolf drives in a RAID 5 supporting only 1 volume for a couple months. I wanted to expand and added a 10T Ironwolf drive which the volume recognized (it listed all 4 drives) but did not expand the volume available space for some reason. I thought maybe I had to get a like drive so shutdown NAS, took out the recently added 10T, and restarted with the a new 6T installed. Received message that the Volume is inaccessible. So, I shutdown the NAS and reinstalled the 10T drive hoping volume would restore. Volume still inaccessible.

It shows all drives inactive.

All I wanted to do is get 4 drives going while saving existing data.

Thank you.

If you plan to expand the volume size, you should follow the guide: https://www.asustor.com/en-gb/online/Co ... ?topic=352. You'll need to replace all 4 drives to 10TB one by one. One disk is not possible.

I'm not sure why you cannot access your original volume on the both conditions (the old disk and the new disk). I think you should send a support request to asustor to check it. https://support.asustor.com/
