Creating multiple volumes on one raid

Post by kilgor »

Hello Asustor community,

I am in the process to setup my nimbustor but ran into some issues. Main is that I cannot seem to find the way how to create multiple volumes on my raid. I do have a raid5 consisting of 3 disks. Mirgating from QNAP I want to create three volumes with a fixed size each. Coming from QNAP this are volumes in a storage pool.
Main reason is to have two fixed size volumes for Mac and Win backups.
All I can create are shared folders and/or iSCSI LUN. An iSCSI LUN would work fine but I cannot setup an iSCSI LUN as TimeMachine target it seems. In Services -> Mac OS X only local folders are listed.

Could I please be pointed at the documentation where I can slice and dice my 14tb into fixed size volumes? Reading though the documentation did not help as of yet.

Thanks

No, ADM does not support creating multiple volumes in one RAID device. You can only consider to apply user quota...

Hello orlon,

thanks for the quick reply. As ADM does not support quota on Btrfs volumes this is not an option right now. Seems I should have investigated this earlier, now I need to sell that device...
