SSH Command Line Interface Support - asustor noob

Post by BioBeehive »

I prefer to manage external devices via CLI,I understand that the Asustor Nas supports commands through SSH, but I cant find any documentation on what language it uses for command line. Is it standard Linux architecture? Or is it something proprietary? Can anyone shed some light on this for me or provide a link to a guide?
Your help is greatly appreciated. :D

NAS use /bin/sh but link to busybox ... so it's a ash shell, lot of basic command are link to busybox ... so applet and not full GNU
As I know, you can't do all administration CLI ... admin is an HTML/Java script environment, so some things can be easily changed (ex. when in a .conf file managed with confutil tool) other require to change .json files or can't be changed through CLI

for user wanting to have more tools, you can add Entware APKG that offer lot (+2500) packages including full GNU tools, bash, etc. etc.
