[MH-kodi19 / MH-kodi18 / MH-kodi17] for myHD (16.04 & 18.04 env.)

myHD is an isolated (namespace (mnt, IPC, PID)) Ubuntu environment to run Ubuntu application displayed as ASUSTOR Asportal / Xorg applications.

Hi pierremillien,

First, myHD is like a container, even not docker or LXC (Linux Center), ... it's a namespace, myHD SHARE with A.D.M. : the kernel and kernel modules AND NETWORK
... so myHD have the same I.P. addresses than A.D.M. itself and share ports, so take care when you setup server (like Kodi server)

Sometimes Kodi list one network from A.D.M. even it can use all of them, enter in myHD (myHD_root) and do ip addr show to verify, also D.N.S. using cat /etc/resolv.conf
Also, a problem exist with SMB select as source (list servers) BUT you can use "Zeroconf" (AFP) ... or use add network location and select smb eyc. ... for creating manual source without restrictions.

Second, mount (A.D.M. folder) are by default not visible ... so you can add ADM shared resources you want to myHD and restart myHD to use it :
Available option are :

Code: Select all

=====================
myHD list_mounted_folder ... list all mounted folder (so also temporary)
myHD list_valid_folder ... list ALL valid folder able to be mounted in myHD and already selected
myHD add_include_folder [MOUNT_FOLDER_PATH_IN_myHD] ...(form : /share/xxxx ) permanent (at start) add folder to be mounted
myHD remove_include_folder FOLDER_PATH ... (like /share/xxx )
myHD list_include_folder ... list ALL folder permanently mounted in myHD
myHD list_temporary_mounted_folder ... list of temporary mounted folder
myHD mount_temporary_folder FOLDER ... mount temporary folder (/share/xxx)
myHD umount_temporary_folder FOLDER ... umount temporary folder (/share/xxx)
=====================
How-to :
myHD list_valid_folder to list ADM share
myHD add_include_folder [MOUNT_FOLDER_PATH_IN_myHD] (ex. myHD add_include_folder /share/Media)
... then add other shar or restart myHD
myHD restart

You can see also (but myHD 2.x) that temporary mount (so up to last myHD restart) can be used ... for ex. for USB external device.

Philippe.

Hi,

Nothing special in status ...
in a terminal using root/your_admin_password

1) did you run an update of Ubuntu ? if not do : myHD apt_upgrade_package

2) you run using ALSA (because Asportal), please can you write here result of :
... enter in myHD : myHD_astr
run : aplay -L
aplay -l

and if possible a screen capture of kodi / settings / system /audio ... click on "audio output device" to get the list of audio device available
... to do a screen capture of any screen under Kodi , just press <CRTL>S ... select folder to put the screenshot (ex. home folder), then in terminal cp the file (name like screenshot00000.png 00000 can be replaced by a number corresponding to the screenshot already done) to any shared folder to get it ...

I have tested all combination, none of them work.
If maybe it wasn't clear in the previous post, my Asustor is connected to my Sonos playbar via toslink directly.
The installation has work well for months with the ADM 3.x Version but since ADM 4.x KODI 18 is a little bit instable but has worked :-P

Thanks again and in advance Philippe

Hi,

Hum! difficult to understand ...
Please id you update Ubuntu ?
do you have a kodi.log (myHD_astr, then get file .kodi/temp/kodi.log)

I have build a test platform :
AS5002T (ADM 4.0 last for this series)
myHD 2.1 with Ubuntu 20.04 and 22.04 L.T.S. (no more 18.04 need a full rebuild perhaps later)
Kodi 19 from stable Kodi repository
Sound output
... HDMI work (but not used for the test)
... USB headset works (but not used for the test)
... SPDIF connected (optic fiber) to audio decoder (Dolby digital prologic II D.T.S.) with 5.1 speakers
in Kodi : select ALC887-VD Digital S/PDIF device and set Passthrough on with same device
all works as expected (music and movies)

hereafter the screenshot (kodi using <CRTL>S) of the configuration page.

I will try to recreate a 18.04 environment ... but be patient

Thanks Philippe,

DO you suggest that I remove myHD and MH-Kodi18 from the AppCentral and reinstall everything ?

Hi,

Difficult to be sure of the suggestion to propose, but if you have updated Ubuntu and nothing appear in kodi.log ... it's a solution, but in this case, perhaps some save must be done before.

I am a little busy for now, but before end of the day (French hours) I will write to you some recommendation (also to keep your kodi settings and keep a list of the addons to be reinstalled.
