Not able to login to my NAS anymore - how to do a clean restore or install without logging in ?

Post by andy8 »

Hi,

I have an Asustor Nimbustor 4 AS5304T (with one HDD) installed. I am now not able to login pass my 2 factor authenticator anymore.
There is something wrong with my clock timer which seems to interfere with my Authenticator app.

I've already tried doing a soft reset by pressing the back reset button for 5 seconds, which doesn't seem to help.

Can someone please advise on what I need to do, to do a clean install of the OS/restore of HDD (as I'm not able to login anymore) ?

Thanks,

You should be able to use the back reset button to reset your admin account. Then use the admin to reset any of the 2FA. This will also reset your NAS network/ports to default.

If it doesn't work, open a ticket with Asustor support. You can boot the NAS without the disks then insert them later to initialize but you will lose all your data.
