Hi
I'm using EZ Connect for Windows and it is nice feature to mount remote drive as Windows drive
But this feature is a litlle bit slow, browning disk via web browser is much faster, also opeining documents is rather slow. Faster is to copy file to local resources and then open it.
Is there something I should correct in my configuration or other reasons ? Is there sometning could I correct ?
Regards
Karol

Access NAS from internet? That should depend on internet speed and shared server bandwidth.

Hi,
EZ connect is NOT a direct connection as shared resources (Samba or sshfs ... etc.)
... NAS is connected to the Asustor EZserver ... client (your PC Windows) are also connected to EZsever and the bridge between this two connections is done in EZserver
... advantage is you don't have to open network port to Internet ... because NAS and PC use only output connection (so more secure ... even you trust the intermediate server)
... disadvantage you add an intermediate server ... so slow down your exchange
Philippe.

Re: EZ Connect - mounted drive a little bit slow
someone can work remotely accessing files on the NAS, through windows
In a usable way, that is, without waiting minutes to open a folder
with ez connect it is very very slow

Hi,
If ftp ot sftp (ssh file transfer) are not enough ... you can use sshfs client in Windows and share resources directly using secure ssh connection
... some sshfs client are free but some of them require to enter "net command line" to access (even persistent mode is also available)
... ... my favorite (net command not require ... direct access in Explorer) is : SSHFS-Win
... ... https://www.nextinpact.com/article/2938 ... us-windows (use Google translate it's in French my language)
... ... https://github.com/billziss-gh/sshfs-wi ... v3.5.20357
... some sshfs client are paid software ... but can have a better "user friendly" approach ... like expandrive and others ...
If you don't have large file to download ... sftp can be used (including folder NOT visible by Samba)
sftp client can be Fillezilla or to have at same time ssh terminal and sftp tab ... some tools like Mobaxterm (my favorite)
Philippe.
