How to fix drive errors

Post by daSpud »

I have a 2 drive system and am getting error message that drive 1 has bad blocks.

I cannot find anything that says take drive 1 offline or allow me to replace it. It is a raid 1 system so there is no redundancy but as this is a fairly new system there is only 200gb on it. It seems to be accessible so is it all on drive 2?

So, you should see your volume (RAID-1) being in degraded mode, isn't it?
RAID-1 volume is tolerant of one disk failure. Simply replace drive-1 with another new disk (disk size >= the original disk) when NAS is still working. Your RAID-1 volume should start to rebuild it.
