Dropboxd high cpu usage after sync

Hi,

I have an AS-304T (recently purchased) with ADM 2.6.5.R9N1.

After synching my dropbox (180GB), dropboxd now takes 25% all the time (one full CPU).
(It did not do that during sync..)

Status (via web-UI) alternates between "idle", "checking" and "(Dropbox) indexing" and uploading the latest modified file all the time.

The NAS is making some weird noises all the time due to the disk checking as well.
I'd wish dropboxd be quiet until there is something to do.

I haven't found any logs or places to check what it's doingeither

Currently the file name is "~lock.man on the moon.docx" which I wrote over the a network share.
However, it was behaving just the same before I created that file, sometimes uploading some .exe files instead, with no weird characters.

Ideas?

Asustor could fix this if they were to acknowledge / agree there is a problem with this app but the support ticket I raised stalled and is now going nowhere. I'm afraid don't have the solution for you and this code is looking like poorly supported abandonware.

That (high CPU usage) could result from dropboxd still working. You can check "home\.datasync-dropbox\datasync_dropbox.log" if there are any useful information.

Thanks for the tip about the log file.

Dropboxd is trying to download three files over and over again but getting "HTTP 409 path/restricted_content/..." error, probably because of the names of these files.
Will look into renaming or zipping them.

It constantly tries to download these files. Apparently the Asustror dropbox client doensn't know about 409 errors and just retries.

It'd been better if it retries every hour or day or so for these files.

The log is below. It might help either Asustor staff or some other poor soul having the same issue.

Removing or zipping those files did the trick. CPU Usage back to near 0% again.

I've been having the same high network usage and constant disk access issues too.

After pulling my hair out (what little is left) trying to find the culprit (I'm not a code guru like most of you), I finally isolated the issue to the Dropbox app.

Killing it solved my problems.
